Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 8, 2026

1. Who We Are

SimchaSet is operated by Eim Leah, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Lakewood, New Jersey. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash by our authentication provider).
  • Event content you enter: simcha details, checklists, and — if you use Shabbos Logistics — guest and host information such as names, phone numbers, and addresses.
  • Payment information: payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; we keep a record of the transaction (amount, date, and Stripe reference).
  • Usage information: analytics about how the Service is used, including recordings of page interactions, collected to improve the product. See Sections 5 and 6.

3. How We Use Information

We use your information solely to provide and improve the Service: operating your account, storing your event data, processing payments, sending transactional email (such as purchase receipts and notices about your Pass), sending optional email about your simcha and our work — which you can unsubscribe from at any time — and keeping the Service secure. We do not sell your personal information.

4. Information About Guests and Hosts

When you enter information about other people (guests, hosts, family members), that information is visible only within your own event. It is your responsibility to have permission to share it. We process it only on your behalf to provide the Service.

5. Service Providers

We rely on a small number of providers to run the Service. Each receives only the information needed to perform its function.

  • Supabase — database and authentication. Stores your account and all event content you enter.
  • Vercel — hosting. Also provides Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights, which collect aggregate, non-identifying page-view and performance measurements.
  • Stripe — payments. Receives your payment details directly; we never see your full card number.
  • Postmark — email delivery. Receives your email address and the contents of emails we send you.
  • Microsoft Clarity— session replay and heatmaps. Clarity records how you interact with pages (clicks, scrolling, and the content displayed on the page) to help us understand where the Service is confusing. This can include event content shown on the screen at the time, such as guest and host names. Recordings are processed by Microsoft. See Microsoft's privacy statement for their practices.
  • Frill — the feedback and changelog widget. Receives what you type into it.
  • Google Maps Platform — address autocomplete. When you type a host or guest address, the characters you type are sent to Google to return address suggestions.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and browser storage for two purposes. Essential cookies keep you signed in and secure your session; the Service does not function without them. Analytics and product-improvement technologies — Vercel Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and the Frill widget — record how the Service is used, as described in Section 5.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and Clarity honors the browser-level Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals. Blocking essential cookies will sign you out.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which removes your personal data from our systems. As a 501(c)(3), we must retain payment and donation records for legal and financial reporting; those records are kept even after an account is deleted.

8. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including encrypted connections, row-level access controls on all data, and least-privilege access for our systems. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

9. Children

The Service is intended for adults planning family celebrations. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and update the "Last updated" date.
