Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 9, 2026

1. Who We Are

SimchaSet is operated by Eim Leah, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Lakewood, New Jersey. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash by our authentication provider).
  • Event content you enter: simcha details, checklists, and — if you use Shabbos Logistics — guest and host information such as names, phone numbers, and addresses.
  • Payment information: payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; we keep a record of the transaction (amount, date, and Stripe reference).
  • Usage information: basic analytics about how the Service is used, collected to improve the product.

3. How We Use Information

We use your information solely to provide and improve the Service: operating your account, storing your event data, processing payments, sending transactional emails (such as invitations you request), and keeping the Service secure. We do not sell your personal information.

4. Information About Guests and Hosts

When you enter information about other people (guests, hosts, family members), that information is visible only within your own event. It is your responsibility to have permission to share it. We process it only on your behalf to provide the Service.

5. Service Providers

We rely on a small number of providers to run the Service: Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), and Postmark (email delivery). Each receives only the information needed to perform its function.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which removes your personal data from our systems, subject to records we must keep for legal or financial reasons (such as donation and payment records).

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including encrypted connections, row-level access controls on all data, and least-privilege access for our systems. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

8. Children

The Service is intended for adults planning family celebrations. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and update the "Last updated" date.
